The Gulf Center for Disease Prevention and Control launched the “Inspiring Impact” initiative based on the belief that public health best practices should not remain confined to a single country. Rather, they can serve as a valuable source of shared learning and a platform for exchanging expertise among the Gulf Cooperation Council countries, thereby strengthening the efficiency of public health systems and supporting the adoption of effective policies and interventions informed by successful experiences.
The initiative aims to highlight leading health practices that have demonstrated a positive impact on population health, whether in the form of policies, programmes, or operational models that can be applied and adapted across different national contexts. By sharing successful experiences, the initiative enables countries to benefit from one another’s expertise, build on existing achievements, and avoid starting from scratch or duplicating efforts.
The initiative follows a clear methodology for selecting, documenting, and disseminating best practices submitted by GCC countries. The Gulf Center for Disease Prevention and Control plays a supportive and coordinating role by receiving submissions, reviewing them against defined criteria, and documenting and sharing them through multiple channels, including permanent communication networks, the knowledge library, digital platforms, and regional seminars.
The “Inspiring Impact” initiative also promotes regional learning among public health professionals and decision-makers by facilitating knowledge exchange, recognising countries’ efforts, and highlighting experiences that can inspire more effective and sustainable health policies and interventions across the region.
Through this approach, the GCDC seeks to transform successful experiences into practical opportunities for development and improvement. This supports greater GCC integration in public health and strengthens the ability of Member States to address current and future health challenges more efficiently, guided by a spirit of collaboration, learning, and shared impact.
