Public health research unit aims to leverage data accessibility, advanced technologies, and applicable methodologies with researchers, other public health professionals, and stakeholders in member states to conduct research on critical threats and risks to guide timely public health decision-making. This will allow for the following: 
•    Understand the patterns of diseases to implement effective disease control, mitigation, and prevention
•    Enable monitoring risks, directly and indirectly, related to the spread of diseases
•    Support collaborative research and studies in the prevention and control of communicable and non-communicable diseases
•    Enable performing modeling and projections related to the spread of diseases
