The Health Council of the Cooperation Council represents one of the successful Gulf entities for joint health work, as it has become, praise be to Allah, one of the most important entities in enhancing Gulf health security. This was evident through the inauguration of the Gulf Center for Disease Prevention and Control by Their Excellencies, Ministers of Health of the Cooperation Council countries at the headquarters of the General Secretariat in Riyadh. Its establishment was approved by the decision of the Supreme Council at the forty-first session “Sultan Qabus and Sheikh Sabah Summit” (Al-Ula - January 2021). With the aim of enhancing coordination, building knowledge and producing evidence to enable prevention of communicable and non-communicable diseases, mitigate public health emergencies, and promote healthy communities throughout the GCC countries, this came during the eighth meeting of the Committee of Their Excellencies, Ministers of Health in the GCC countries. Chaired by His Excellency Professor Fahd bin Abdulrahman Al-Jalajel, Minister of Health in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia - Chairman of the current session -, and in the presence of His Excellency Abdulrahman bin Muhammad Al Owais, Minister of Health and Prevention of the United Arab Emirates, His Excellency Dr. Jalila bint Al Sayed Jawad Hassan, Minister of Health of the Kingdom of Bahrain, His Excellency Dr. Mohammed bin Saif Al Hosani, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Health for Health Affairs in the Sultanate of Oman, His Excellency Dr. Saleh Ali Al Marri, Assistant Minister Public Health for Health Affairs in the State of Qatar, His Excellency Dr. Ahmed Abdel Wahhab Al-Awadi, Minister of Health in the State of Kuwait, His Excellency Dr. Abdullah Muhammad Dahan, Deputy Minister of Public Health and Population in the Republic of Yemen, and with the participation of His Excellency Professor Khalifa bin Saeed Al-Abri, Assistant Secretary for Economic and Development Affairs at the General Secretariat Their Excellencies, Ministers of Health of the GCC states also raised their highest thanks and gratitude to their Majesties and Highnesses, the leaders of the GCC states - may God protect and preserve them - for their continuous support and blessed decisions aimed at supporting the health sector, advancing the course of joint Gulf health work, and their concern, concern and care for human health and providing All kinds of support for the health sector in the GCC countries.
