The Supervisory Board of the Gulf Center for Disease Prevention and Control holds its fifteenth meeting

The fifteenth meeting of the Supervisory Board of the Gulf Center for Disease Prevention and Control was held on Wednesday at the headquarters of the Gulf Health Council in Riyadh. The meeting discussed the 2025 implementation plan, presented by the CEO of the center, Dr. Pasi Penttinen, along with the objectives and projects of the plan.

The meeting was attended by representatives of the GCC countries, including Dr. Hussein Mohamed Al Rand from the United Arab Emirates, Dr. Samia Bahram from the Kingdom of Bahrain, Dr. Abdullah Al-Qwaizani from the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Dr. Amal Al-Maani from the Sultanate of Oman, Sheikh Dr. Mohammed Al Thani from the State of Qatar, and Dr. Al-Munther Al-Hassawi from the State of Kuwait. And Mr. Suleiman bin Saleh Al-Dakhil the General Director of the Gulf Health Council.

It is noteworthy that the establishment of the Gulf Center for Disease Prevention and Control was approved by Their Majesties and Highnesses, the leaders of the GCC states, during their 41st session (Al-Ula, January 2021). One of the center's notable achievements is the completion of the Gulf Public Health Emergency Preparedness Plan and the launch of a comprehensive data dashboard, enabling stakeholders to assess the epidemiological situation in the GCC countries for forecasting and making effective decisions.
