As part of its ongoing efforts to enhance cooperation and improve health care in the Gulf region, the Gulf Center for Disease Prevention and Control held the academic and research forum in Riyadh - Kingdom of Saudi Arabia at the Marriott Hotel over two days. The forum witnessed the presence and participation of an elite group of Gulf and international experts, who discussed the challenges of education and research in the field of public health within the Gulf Cooperation Council.
The forum discussions revolved around the theme “Closing the Gap: Translating Research into Policy and Practice Challenges and the Way Forward.” Experts focused on the importance of transforming scientific research into practical, evidence-based policies, with the aim of confronting current health challenges and improving the quality of health care.
The forum's sub-sessions addressed various issues related to public health education and recommendations, with a focus on professional perceptions of public health among doctors in the Gulf Cooperation Council countries. Recent research and analyses were also reviewed to develop education and training strategies in this field.
