The fifth meeting of the Permanent Network for Monitoring and Surveillance was held in a session that discussed the most important challenges facing the GCC countries in the field of compliance with data sharing, in addition to adding an additional disease to the list of diseases that fall under monitoring and surveillance.
During the fifth meeting of the Permanent Network for Monitoring and Surveillance, several issues related to improving international cooperation in the field of health surveillance were discussed, and the discussions highlighted the challenges facing member states with regard to compliance with data sharing and ensuring its accuracy and speed of flow, with the aim of improving the response to epidemics and infectious diseases. An additional disease has also been added to the list of diseases that are monitored on an ongoing basis.
The meeting of the Permanent Monitoring and Surveillance Network reflects the Council’s commitment to enhancing cooperation in the field of public health and combating infectious diseases, and this comes within the framework of the Gulf Center’s efforts to enhance preparedness and response to the various health challenges facing the citizens of the Gulf Cooperation Council countries.
