Chaired by the Executive Director of the center, Dr. Bassi Pantinen, the workshop was attended by department directors and staff, as well as communication officers from member countries. The primary objective of the workshop was to discuss the proposed projects that the Gulf Center seeks to implement in the year 2024.
During the meeting, there was a comprehensive review of the center's vision, mission, and strategic objectives. Dr. Walid Al-Nadabi, the Director of Planning and Projects Management, provided a detailed presentation on the planning methodology employed. Professor Duncan highlighted essential global health considerations for the planning process. Dr. Bassi Pantinen, the Executive Director of the center, shed light on major international trends related to public health.
Following these presentations, each department director presented their proposed projects individually, and they were discussed by the attendees. The aim was to contribute to the smooth execution of these projects, ensuring expected outcomes and meeting the center's goals.
On the second day, a separate meeting was held to clarify the expected roles of communication officers from the Gulf Cooperation Council countries in the upcoming phase. The objective was to enhance cooperation and coordination among member states.
The workshop concluded by emphasizing the importance of teamwork, as success lies in achieving the overall vision of the Gulf Center for Disease Prevention and Control. Gratitude was expressed to all attendees for their effective and constructive participation in this workshop, emphasizing the significance of collaboration to achieve the desired goals in the field of public health in the region.
