The Gulf Center for Disease Prevention and Control participated in the first Regional Forum on Data and Community Development, held in Sharjah from October 9 to 10, 2024, under the patronage of Dr. Sheikh Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, Ruler of Sharjah. The forum, the first of its kind in the region, included more than 60 diverse events under its agenda, which was organized under the theme "Standards That Drive Change."
The forum was jointly organized by the Department of Statistics and Community Development in Sharjah, the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Western Asia (ESCWA), the Statistical Center for the Cooperation Council for the Arab States of the Gulf (GCC-Stat), the Federal Competitiveness and Statistics Center, along with several leading federal, regional, and international organizations.
During its participation, the Gulf Center for Disease Prevention and Control focused on raising public awareness of its ongoing efforts in disease prevention and control at the level of Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries. Visitors were also introduced to the Center's key achievements in promoting public health and disease prevention through various leading programs and initiatives.
The Center's booth attracted significant interest and interaction from visitors, who expressed their interest in learning about the health initiatives and preventive services provided by the Center.
