As part of its efforts to strengthen shared health information systems and unify regional initiatives in road traffic injury prevention, the Gulf Center for Disease Prevention and Control organized on Wednesday, October 1, 2025, a specialized workshop aimed at equipping technical teams from the GCC member states with the knowledge and tools necessary to establish and activate the GCC Road Traffic Injuries Registry.
The workshop focuses on standardized data collection mechanisms, unified definitions, and internationally recognized classification systems, in addition to the practical application of the registry framework to ensure accuracy and comparability of data across member states. It also seeks to build the capacity of national professionals in member states to effectively manage and analyze data, thereby positively influencing public health and road safety policies.
The organization of this workshop reflects the Center’s commitment to supporting member states in strengthening Gulf-wide integration in road traffic injury surveillance, contributing to the development of evidence-based strategies and reducing the health, social, and economic burden of road accidents in the region.
