The Gulf Center for Disease Prevention and Control (Gulf CDC) convened the 13th Liaison Officers Meeting on Wednesday, 22 April 2026, with the participation of representatives from the GCC Member States, as part of its ongoing efforts to strengthen joint coordination and follow up on the implementation of public health priorities across the Gulf region.
During the meeting, participants reviewed the latest developments related to ongoing projects and initiatives, discussing key implementation challenges and exploring mechanisms to address them in order to ensure the effective and efficient achievement of objectives. The meeting also emphasized the pivotal role of liaison officers in supporting workflow continuity and enhancing coordination among relevant entities in Member States.
The discussions further addressed mechanisms for advancing regional cooperation through the exchange of expertise and best practices, contributing to improved implementation of joint initiatives and strengthening integration across public health sectors, in line with the strategic directions of the GCC health system.
The meeting forms part of a series of regular gatherings organized by Gulf CDC to reinforce Gulf cooperation, enhance preparedness and response capacities for health challenges, and support the protection of public health and the strengthening of health security across the GCC countries.
