The Gulf Center for Disease Prevention and Control (Gulf CDC) continues to monitor regional developments and their potential public health implications for the GCC countries through ongoing coordination meetings with members of the GCC Public Health Emergency Network, with the participation of the General Secretariat of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) and the Emergency Management Center of the State of Kuwait.
These meetings are held as part of joint Gulf efforts to strengthen integration and coordination among entities concerned with public health and to keep pace with relevant regional developments, contributing to enhanced preparedness and readiness to address various health challenges.
The meetings focus on strengthening mechanisms for the continuous exchange of information and updates among Member States, in addition to discussing key potential scenarios and assessing public health risks. Such efforts support data-driven decision-making and enhance the speed and effectiveness of responses to any potential health implications.
The meetings also contribute to advancing joint Gulf action in the field of public health emergency preparedness by unifying efforts and coordinating preventive measures, thereby strengthening the efficiency and responsiveness of health systems across the GCC countries during crises.
The continuation of these meetings reflects Gulf CDC’s commitment to its role in supporting the regional public health system and strengthening Gulf health security, in line with the aspirations of GCC Member States to build an integrated and resilient health system capable of responding effectively to public health emergencies.
